Bailey got his heartworm treatments..... I did not find out until I took Bailey to the vet to make sure he had his shots that he had heartworms. It seems he had only been to the vet once, for his puppy shots and then got intermittant heartworm treatments. So I found out that he had heartworms and needed extensive treatment over a ninety day period. Well that event has been solved a thousand dollars and 90 days later. We have received a clean bill of health.
Viji and the kids flew in to Atlanta where I met them at the airport which is 5 hours from the house. I did get a room in Atlanta for the night which was a good thing since they were a couple hours late arriving. We stopped in Waycross to pick Bailey up from boarding and headed to the house and introduced them to their new home. And yes, they love their new home. Viji had a wonderful time adding the little touches that make it a home. This she did at many stores including some antique shops we stopped at along the way in our travels. We spent a couple weeks here and in Orlando with Ranji and Rudi and then headed on the trip to drop the kids in DC and then we headed on out to Iowa and Wisconsion where Viji got to meet and spend some time with Tina and her family and time with my parents. Yes, she even had some time with Sadie one of my granddaughters that calls me grandpa Chris. She spent the night with Viji and I at the hotel and then had lunch with us and my parents the next day. She took her stuffed dog for a swim while claiming that was all right. She said she had done so with her mother's blessings, which was not so,,,, but it is a stuffed dog and I am sure will survive. Then we headed to Madison Wisconsion to spend time with Marion, one of Viji's best friends. On the way we stopped at Lalieth's house and met his wife and son, had lunch and then on to Marions. A couple days later Lalieth and his family came up for breakfast only 90 miles away, we had Sri Lankan hoppers for breakfast. It was a good time. While there we also went to the Madison Farmers Market which is run very well, just the way a farmers market ought to be.
Then Viji and I headed back to the home and spent some time here by ourselves enjoying our new home. Then Moni came over from England and toured around the US. She came to us just before we went to the beach at New Smyrna Beach for a week in a timeshare. Then we spent a couple of those beach days with Ranji and Rudi. While at the beach on the balcony we saw a black and white large fish and it appears now, since there has been a rare dolphin beached itself that we did infact see this kind of fish while there. It is always awesome when I see dolphins or other fish in the ocean. Such a large body of water and they choose to be here in this spot so I can see them.
We also got to see some freshly hatches turtles scrambling from their nest into the ocean at dusk. Again this was an awesome sight!! It seems there is a group of volunteers that walk the beach early in the morning during turtle egg laying season so they can mark the nest and date it so they can assist in guiding the new hatchlings to the ocean. Again it was an awesome sight that one does not get to see every day.
Then Viji and I came back home and spent quality time doing things here to make it our home. We bought and hung curtains, we bought and put together and installed a railing on the front deck. Took us three days to accomplish this while not hurting each other too badly. And now it looks pretty good, even with my one unique feature where it is not "perfect". But you must know, I do not do quality work with a saw and hammer or drill and screws. When I am done with it you can certainly tell it was not done by a professional carpenter. But it is ours and it looks good. Thanks for working with me to get this railing up my Baby, I appreciate it even if I am not the nicest person when working on a project like this.
I believe that is about all the excitement that happened in July. If not, I will come back and add it.
Next step will be to write about August, again a busy and fun and trying month.
But that being said, we survived and grew stronger and we are going to get married in January, on the 23rd to be exact, in Sri Lanka.
Have a wonderful day!!
Catch ya later!!
